Clinical Scientist · GI Physiology
Adult and Paediatric

Clinical Scientist in GI Physiology. One of very few in the UK with specialist expertise across both adult and paediatric gut disorders writing publicly about the science that does not get the headlines, for the people mainstream gut health advice forgets.

17 years as an NHS Clinical Scientist in Gastrointestinal Physiology, currently at Alder Hey Children's Hospital. I specialise in complex and functional gut disorders: motility, bowel management, rumination syndrome, continence. The conditions that are unglamorous, underfunded, and frequently misunderstood. I write to make the hard science accessible, and to advocate for the patients that standard gut health advice was never designed for.
A hearing impaired woman in STEM, she brings a different kind of listening to clinical science.
